چکیده

Syngas (for synthetic gas) is a well known gaseous biofuel, also as producer gas or wood gas. It composed mainly of N2, CO2, CO, H2 and CH4, with varying shares depending on the gasification process biomass source. When syngas used in Internal Combustion engines for stationary electricity generation, operation modes have to be adapted. The problem that, moment, combustion parameters complex compositions are not fully covered by literature. In this study, laminar flame speeds Markstein lengths measured three compositions. These were chosen represent typical production types gasifiers (Updraft, Downdraft Fluidized Bed). Measurements made at initial temperatures (298–423 K), pressures (1–5 bar) equivalence ratios (0.6–1.4). method was outwardly propagating spherical method. Higher CO contents Updraft produced two times higher than Fluidbed composition. Results compared data from only previous studies but no quantitative agreement found. results obtained kinetic modeling four mechanisms provide global specially those CRECK mechanism that deviated experimental 5–10%.

Flame Speed Characteristics of Syngas (H2-CO) with Straight Burners for Laminar Premixed Flames

Laminar flame speeds of undiluted syngas (H2/CO) mixtures have been studied at atmospheric conditions using chemiluminescence and schlieren techniques for a straight cylindrical burner apparatus. A wide range of mixture composition, from pure H2 to 1/99 % H2/CO, has been investigated for lean premixed syngas flames. To achieve a better flame stabilization and reduce flame flashback propensity, ...

Burning Speed and Entropy Production Calculation of a Transient Expanding Spherical Laminar Flame Using a Thermodynamic Model

A thermodynamic model has been developed to calculate burning speed and entropy production of transient expending spherical laminar flame in an enclosed vessel. The model also predicts the particle trajectories of both unburned and burned gases in the vessel. The input to this model is the dynamic pressure rise due to combustion process. The unburned gases are divided into three regions: The co...

Determination of laminar flame speed of methane-air flames at subatmospheric conditions using the cone method and CH* emission

Experimental measurements of laminar fl ame speed for premixed methane-air fl ames were carried out for different equivalence ratios at subatmospheric conditions, 852 mbar and 298 K. The fl ames were obtained using a rectangular port burner with a water cooler system necessary to maintain the temperature of the mixture constant. An ICCD camera was used to capture chemiluminescence emitted by OH...

PSFC-JA-08-10 Benchmarking of Alcohol Chemical Kinetic Mechanism for Laminar Flame Speed Calculations

Methanol and ethanol have been investigated as very high octane fuels for knock control/avoidance in spark ignition engines. Direct injection of the alcohol results in substantial cooling of the cylinder charge, decreasing the chemical kinetic rates that result in autoignition. However, decreasing the temperature of the cylinder charge also affects the initial flame propagation. The purpose of ...
